What Art?
Picture one has a deep red background and a girl wearing a blue shirt with her air tied back in a blue headband. Each stroke it very prominent except for the hair which is very realistic. The girl looks very bored and unsatisfied. In the second photo the strokes are also very prominent especially in the collar bones making her look a little skeletal. Her eyebrows also look fake but maybe that was for a reason. Similar to the first one, the hair is also realistic. Her face seems a mix of seductive and painful.
1) The first model seems unsatisfied and longing for something, she also is facing the side with an upright posture. The second model seems to be in pain or trying to be a bit seductive ( maybe I think that because she’s not wearing a shirt ). She also is slouched towards the camera. I feel like they are both in need of something and are not happy.
2) If the composition was not mixed media then I think it was done on photoshop because of the clarity of the hair.
3) The first piece utilizes warmer colors, which I feel makes it seem closer and more personal. Even though, the face of the second piece is more focused on, I feel like she is almost more distanced because of the colors setting her deeper and farther back.
4) I think the message had something to do with beauty because both women, in social standards are beautiful. The hair and the makeup in both mixed with their facial expressions lead me to believe that social standards or role of beauty in society left them feeling unfulfilled.
